I was lucky. I grew up across the street from Dyes Inlet. The beach was my playground and later the inspiration for a vocation. My first beach project was pouring an anchor for a swim raft with my dad and younger brother. I was 8 years old. My sister and I would scour the inlet every spring for materials to build that year's swim raft; feeling accomplished when our design survived the winter winds.

In 1978 I attended the Phoenix Institute of Technology where I obtained a certification in system controls.  While enjoying that field, my true passion has always been marine work. My obsession with designing a sturdy anchor system - one that keeps a boat secure - has been my constant companion.

For over 35 years I've been fortunate to spend time on the water where I'm happiest. It's an honor to help my customers get full enjoyment of waterfront living.

Growing up around the Puget Sound, the salt water has always been central to my life. My summer days and nights were filled with boating, swimming, tubing, slalom skiing, kayaking, surfing, and being amazed by bioluminescence. No matter where I go, I feel at home when I take in a breath of salt air.

Some of my earliest memories are of being in the shop with my dad while he was working on boats, floats, and buoys. As I got older, I started working and learning from him. I would watch construction projects from trucks and would join him on the boat for installations. Witnessing the early phases of product development inspired me to focus on engineering, design, and problem solving.

I attended Montana State University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a minor in small business management and entrepreneurship. While in college I worked internships in R&D as well as operations for the energy industry. When graduation came by, I decided for forgo the traditional route for a chemical engineer in my position, and instead I joined into membership with Leeward Marine Works and Tikar Services. I am now the managing member for both LLCs. I am currently focused on increasing production and expansion.
